Fiber optic cable installation

The Chair of Hydrogeology of the TUM is a participant in the research project "GFK Monitor" funded by the Federal Ministry of economy and climate (BMWK) and is planning to pemanently install a FOC in a geothermal injection well, which is owned by Stadtwerke München (SWM) for continous monitoring. This is planned together with the associated surface equipment for the injection well TH6 (or an equivalent well) and will be integrated into an existing fiber optic monitoring system installed in 2019 in well TH4 and TH3. To ensure the comparability of the measurements in the different boreholes, the cable and the construction related to the cable shall have the same properties as the existing system in TH4. The cable shall be installed along a sucker rod to the total depth (TD) of the well TH6 (or an equivalent well).
